The Survival Rat

Though the sun shined bright and the others did play,

The rat dug his tunnel, deep in the clay.

The others did mock, the rats preparations,

Instead, only choosing to plan their vacations.

The rat was not bothered, he continued his work,

Danger, he knew, had begun lurk.

Though danger would come, bringing change to all,

The rat would survive, the worst of the fall.

He stored his food, he stored his water,

He prepared for a time either colder or hotter.

He prepared for floods, he prepared for fires,

He prepared to defend against others desires.

He will be ready, safe in his nest,

He would be secreted away from the rest.

Be like the rat, and prepare for your clan,

Be better off, than the ones with no plan.
